Welcome to Swedish Gem Group’s North American home!
Sorbet Sapphire is thrilled to become Swedish Gem Group's distribution partner. Specializing in mine-to-market sourcing, Swedish Gem Group works closely with small-scale sapphire mines in Nivithigala and Passara, Sri Lanka, and supports mining efforts in Tanzania. Their gems are polished in a dedicated 5-cutters workshop in Nivithigala, located near artisanal gem mines.
This partnership is rooted in a shared commitment to transparency and responsible sourcing. Swedish Gem Group’s origin-specific collections offer insight into each gem’s journey, detailing how sapphires are mined and sourced.
Pricing for designer-makers, retailers, and end-consumers remains unchanged with this partnership. Be sure to register for a wholesale account on the Sorbet Sapphire website to access trade pricing and discover these exceptional gems!

About Swedish Gem Group
Swedish Gem Group (Ädelstensgruppen AB) is a Stockholm-based company with over 10 years as the leading supplier of coloured gemstones to design houses and manufacturers in Sweden. In a 2013 Swedish ELLE Magazine feature, 4 out of 5 pieces showcasing natural coloured gemstones—designed by 3 out of 4 featured designers—were cut by Swedish Gem Group.
Their team includes a managing director with 16 years of gem sourcing experience and a background in physical chemistry (specializing in crystals), a Gem-A-trained gem cutter, and a Gem-A-trained finance manager. In 2017, their managing director was a keynote speaker at the Facets International Gem & Jewelry Show in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
With a Sri Lanka office and lapidary located near Nivithigala mines, Swedish Gem Group ensures direct access to sapphires—often reaching their workshop the same day or the day after they are mined.
Like Sorbet Sapphire, Swedish Gem Group sells exclusively wholesale to legitimate jewelry retailers and designer-makers.
